The Adventures of Gordon Banting
The Adventures of Gordon Banting is a project I started in 2013 with Steven and James Fenczik. Originally it was a sidescrolling Metroidvania shooter, but in 2017 I went back and started building a 3D platformer version.
The game's protagonist is Gordon Banting, a 1920s scientist and the original inventor of the time machine. With his trusty cane, he travels through time and discovers history as it really happened - not with boring politics, dates, or facts, but with robots riding dinosaurs and giant yetis attacking hikers in the Himalayas.

Gordon's cane can morph into different tools and weapons. Throughout the game he adds new tools to his arsenal that he'll need to survive the dangers of time and space. Gordon must also traverse treacherous terrain, using his cane to sling himself on hooks, beams, and ledges.
The sidescrolling version was at a vertical slice (2 complete levels, 3 weapons, 4 enemy types, and a boss battle) when we stopped working on it.
The 3rd person platformer version is also near a vertical slice. Here's a video of where it's at:
